A rail clip is a spring fastener that holds the rail foot down against the sleeper or baseplate. It is the active clamping element in a rail fastening system, converting its elastic deflection into a steady downward force that keeps the rail in position. Our clips are made from spring steel bar, heated and forged into shape, then hardened and tempered to give the required combination of strength and flexibility. We produce common clip types including E-clips, SKL tension clamps, and Nabla clips, covering rail sections from 50kg/m to 60kg/m and above. Each clip is designed to work with a specific shoulder, insulator and pad arrangement. When fitted correctly, the rail clip maintains its grip through millions of load cycles, helping to keep gauge and alignment stable between scheduled railway maintenance intervals.
